Breaking system Noise S40-V40 2000

I had a problem with my breaking system that was repaired. Never before did I hear the "vacuum pump" that assists the breaking system. Since the repair, the sound is getting more and more pronounced, sometimes lasting up to 5 minutes after starting the car. Is something going on here?
