My vehicle (1998 Volvo V70 T5 Auto) has a strange door locking problem.

Whenever I go to start it I hear this strange sound that comes from the behind the door panel of the front passenger door. It sounds like a spring being sprung. On this door I can make the door locks go up and down by using the key or door switch but no matter if the door lock is up or down I can always open the door.

The rear passenger door can only be locked if I physically push the lock down. The key or door switch will not operate the lock. Once the lock is physically pushed down it is securely locked.

Hello, There's a disconnect between the electronic part of the front door lock and the mechanical part. It's GOTTA be a "clip". The lock wants to work but ain't attached. Remove the panel and look. The rear door sounds like it's not getting its electricity. The door locks and unlocks fine, just not electrically. Remove the panel and chech the electric parts. Kira
