Engine check Light on what wrong? 850 1994 turbo

Just bought a 1994 850 turbo last week with 114000 mile on it

Yesterday the Engine check light came on and stay on .... what could this be ??

Do I need a new oxigen sensor located on manifold??

      Charles, the error code was 2-1-2 in socket 2-A

      Check engine light reset:

      8/17/99, 84K miles 2-2-3 and 2-1-2 no repairs done

      5/11/00, 88K miles 2-1-2 no repairs done

      9/02/00, 93K miles 2-1-2 no repairs done

      Socket 2-B has has 1-2-2 I cant figure what this one is about. It will not delete.

      My service book is a Haynes, 850, 1992-1996 Hope you can help...is this damaging the eingine?

        Socket B2 is for the cruise control and code 122 will always be read when checking that socket. The code means the car has not reached 35Km per hour and could not engage the cruise control.

          Ah, I was trying to clear 122 on B2 for a looong time:-) Then I gave up and figured that cruise control is not a critical system, and it is working fine anyway and decided to live with it.

        The code in socket "A2" (212) is being set because you need a new front oxygen sensor. Code 212 is: Front Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), signal missin or faulty. Replace the front HO2S, clear the codes and you should be OK.

          Just replaced my front O2 with soem help from Rich. Job is easy with the exception of removing the second retaining slip. You can get the sensor from any auto store for about 140.

            Thanks everyone for the help. Ill put a new o2 sensor before it becomes too cold here in Michigan. Its good to know about Diagnostic B-2
