Can some one list the major differences between the 850 and V70. They look very similar. Are they about the same differences as a 140 vs 240 or a 240 vs 740 or a 740 vs. 940. Is it the same body, but different engines, etc. Just curious. Also how reliable and durable are they? Whats more reliable and durable -- 240 vs 740 vs 940? Thanks in advance

In '98, what was the 850 before was "re-skinned" as the S/V 70. It's the same car but has different body and interior parts.

Now the S60 is basically a "re-skinned" S70 but both the S60 and '01 V70 have now taken on more of the S80s looks and features.

Don't let Yannis hear you say that an S60 is a re-skinned S70. He read me the riot act for saying that the S60 was the replacement for the S70.

Hmmmmmm, BUT it IS! Trust me, I've seen/PDId and driven a few by now. It looks more like a "baby S80" however on the outside and interior but open the hood, look underneath and...........S70 (but more refined, even nicer IMHO).

We think it'll be very good car (I hope).

Then evidently the ONLY thing you're looking at under the hood is the powerplant. Congrats. That's one helluva an eye you have. There isn't one part, save the powertrain, that's carried over from the now dead S70/850 line. NOT ONE! Reskined?? Please, have a closer look next time.

Agreed! If it's a reskinned anything, it's a reskinned 2001 v70.
