Tool to reset SRS light on 98 V70 V70-XC70

Hi All,

I'm asking a question that has been asked before in the hope that new information might come along. I made the mistake of powering up the car during repairs when I had an airbag disconnected. Now I have a stuck-on SRS light.

I know from threads here and elsewhere that the el-cheapo OBDII tools that you can buy at the local parts places don't cut it. But I understand there are a number of inexpensive tools/software out there they may have (or can be extended to support) Volvo specific codes. Maybe something that can be bought on eBay?

Can anyone recommend something from personal experience that can do the SRS light reset?

Best,

Have you tried Advance Auto or some place like that?

You can borrow there scanner for a few minutes and hopefully turn it off. They might even be able to help there.

Just my two cents.

The simple/cheap tools are lap top based, the software is on a CD ROM. I do not have a laptop, so I cannot comment further.

If you ever find yourself in Sacramento, I would gladly reset the SRS light for you-at no charge, of course! :D
