Sounds bad , the the wires in my house are 60 years old. Any point in springing for a new set now? Actually I haven't found them online under electrical / ignition - where dist cap is listed, nor under maintenance or engine so I have no idea of the price for oem. Anyone know the catagory where plug wires are hidden?

Another great supplier! Those wires last for a long time. So long as they don't become limp, they should last a while longer. IPD and FCP both have them, but only get Beougecord(SP) for replacements.

More important is to get new cap and rotor.

I changed mine after ~15 years and 175k miles. They were at about the end of their useful life.

Did you try Lowe's or Home Depot? They have lots of house wire. Just kidding.

I changed my '95 855T ignition cables out about 140,000 miles. No signs of misfire, no other issues. Just decided it was time when I did a rotor / cap / plug replacement.

Autozone, Advance, O'Reilly's should have them. Or a bunch of online suppliers. Got mine from FCP.
