2003 V40 Hatch won't open S40-V40

I can hear the solenoid move when the remote is pushed, but there is no resistance when pushing the button to open the hatch.

Anyone else been in this situation?

How do you get into the mechanism? Can you do it with the hatch door shut?

    Did you by chance lock the trunk using the key? The key hole should be horizontal and turned to the right (clockwise) for the remote to work. If it was turned to the left to lock the hatch and in the verticle position, it will not unlock via the remote.
