White Block oil separator S70 1998

In the middle of replacing all the vacuum lines and the entire flame trap and oil separator system on this GLT. I'm about to bolt the new oil separator to the block with the new connector tube, which is metallic. There is no indication which side goes where! I'm assuming the side with the rubber "lip" goes to the block. Anyone care to comment? I cannot find a good diagram on line that shows the newer style metal tube.
Thanks,
DS

It's been so long ago... but I remember the same problem. I also put the rubber end in the block, assuming the clamps sealed the tube to the separator box. Never leaked.

The connector is no longer a "hose", but a steel tube with a rubber liner. There are ribs inside to improve the seal at the block and the box. One side the rubber extends past the tube. Problem was solved rather obviously: The side with the rubber outer rim will not fit into the fins on the block without being crushed!

Assume you're talking about the oil trap?. I put the slightly flared end to the block. been working fine for the last few months.

Thanks Jack. Yes, the oil trap/separator, etc. The tube doesn't appear to be flared, but there is a wide, rubber lip around one end. I'm with you, toward the block. Darkness falling, gotta run with it.
