"...when the car is delivered I will get whatever promotional discounts I qualify for..."
And who determines what you "qualify" for? The dealer? Seems pretty odd they can't tell you right now what those discounts will be.
I wouldn't have the slightest idea whether that's a good price or not - all the cars I've owned in my 60 years don't add up to nearly that much. But I can't believe that there is such a high demand for that car that the dealer can get away with telling you what the price will be and then expect you to buy into it with no further negotiation. I'd offer less and when they get all wound up about how unrealistic you're being, just tell them "Thank you for your time, I'll have to think it over" and head for the door. If they don't chase you out to your car you can bet they'll be calling you in the next day or two. Also, don't think for a minute that "dealers invoice" is what they actually have in the car. It doesn't account for the factory incentives (kick-backs), volume discounts, and what ever else they receive from Volvo. Plus, if you finance it through the dealer, they get about a 1% kick-back from the finance company.
If it were me, I'd keep shopping.
