bilstein HD for s/V70 is twintube, not monotube V70-XC70 2000

It has been so long since I posted I re-registered but that is another story.

I have been looking the replace the bilstein TCs I put on the 2000 V70 some years back. Before I always used Bilsein HD on all my cars and trucks. Bilstein always made a big deal of their monotube design being more robust than any twin tube design. Only once did I stray from that idea, with the TCs.

When the rears failed at 50k, some 6 months ago. I replaced them with HDs, which on the rear are still a monotube design. The fronts are now failing and much to my surprise the fronts are available in HDs, but these HDs are twin tube (they are painted yellow). Only the sports are monotube. The TCs, which I would not use again are also monotube.

Now my question is has anyone put these twin tube HDs on their car and what are the results? I am also wondering about alternatives. The koni sports are adjustable but are probably really stiff. Biklstein has already told me the sports are for lowered suspensions and I an not going there.

Any input is much appreciated.

Gene
