Rear Shocks XC90 2004

My left rear shock is leading fluid and I am going to have both rear ones replaced. I have estimates from two shops. One is an experienced and certified Volvo shop and the other is Firestone. There is about $100 difference in the price with the reason being the Volvo shop would be using gas shocks while the Volvo shop would be using fluid ones.

Even thought I could save $100 I am not comfortable "mismatching" shocks (fluid in front-gas in rear)

Am I just being paranoid here? Don't want to replace the front because of $$ and both places tell me they are fine.

Thanks

Although I simple job that any shop should be able to perform, I avoid the chain shops for just about anything. I'd go with the Volvo experienced guy, you are probably getting something decent from him that will last the length of time you will probably keep the vehicle (but I would ask to be sure). Just my couple of cents worth.
