Radio code reset? 850

I had to take my battery out to do the clutch master and slave. Now my radio doesn't work. It had asked for a code,, ....so I guessed. ....I guessed poorly. Now when I turn it on it just says, "OFF". How do I fix that? sheesh, I miss my 140's

Radio code reset? 850

You have 8100 different combinations, numbers 1-6. You either need to find the code in a card with the owner's manual, written on the radio (I do that), or a scrap piece of paper somewhere. Without the code, your radio is useless. If the radio is original to the car, your dealer's parts department can find the code for you - you supply the VIN and radio serial number.

To get the message to change from OFF and back to CODE, the radio needs to be turned on for at least 2 hours. If you have a good battery charge, leave the key in posI, otherwise, drive a lot.

Radio code reset? 850

Thanks. I doubt it is written anywhere in the car. I'll look again. Other than that Hopefully Volvo will be able to find it. Hmmm, 8100 options, how har could that be to guess? lol

Easiest way is to call your dealer's parts or service dept... 850

Originally, the code came on a card included in the new car purchase documents.

For you, however, the easiest way is to call your dealer's parts or service dept.... If they don't know you as a regular customer, they may (and really should) ask you to come in to show your registration slip.
But assuming you're the rightful owner, and the radio is the original, they can look it up in mere seconds.
