fuse location in drivers side rear of v70 wagon V70-XC70 1999

I have a 1999 v70 wagon with 188k miles. The rear wiper does not work. The washer pump does work. Fuse #33 in the front fuse fuse box is good and when I actuate the control on the steering column I can hear the intermittent relay click under the dash. I read in the archives that there is a fuse box located in the rear drivers side if the cargo area of the wagon. I have torn that area of the car apart and can not find the location. I have hear it referred to the REM area. No joy. I need help with this one.

Thanks

Do you know how to remove/replace the inner tail gate?

On 850s you remove the surround of the lever and unfasten the bottom of the the panel and lift up to remove.

To install, remove the clips from the panel, slide them into the slots on the outer tail gate, then press the inner panel on.

While the 2001+ wagons have a rear fuse box, I don't believe that yours does.

You need to check the wiper wires in the rear. There are also many folks who have had the metal connector arm corrode so badly that it no longer can move. I am afraid that you will need to remove the liftgate panel, pull off the motor and check that it works when you flip the switch. Also use penetrating oil on the metal connector (shaft) at the base of the blade.

You might carefully try moving the blade when the wiper is switched on.

I checked the voltage at the 14 pin connector just below the hinge on the driver side of the car. I found voltage at pin #8 & #9. The next step is to check for voltage at the motor. If the motor is bad there are plenty to choose from at the local pull a part. I eventually did find help in the forums. You are correct there is no fuse box in the back of the car. Thanks
