2006 Ocean Race ... some questions...new owner V70-XC70

So...here's some more questions:
1. Paint protection- The finish on my 2006 was very well cared for. We are approaching winter here in NY...no garage. What finish protection do you all use...It has to last the winter, as I am NOT waxing the car in the snow! AND...what do you remove white wax from the black bumpers with? I hate to have to tape off the car before waxing.
2. Any way to have the Park Assist with an aftermarket radio? I can hear that the beeping comes out of the speakers.
3. I heard of someone cutting out the splash pan to have access to the oil filter/ plug so that it does not need to be removed every oil change. Any word on this? Seems to let road debis in the cutout. BUT...it would be nice to not have to remove the pan every time....lazy.
4. What is the final word on maintaining the finish on the black plastic bumpers? Mine are in good nick, just want to maintain them with the upcoming salt and rains.

Paste wax with a cleaner, or a cleaner followed by a good paste wax. Buy a cheap car buffer at Sears, the one with a 12 inch pad works for me. Don't forget to wax the door sills and the inner painted door edges, AND the bottom of the rear hatch. I even take the rear license plate bracket off once a year to get to the part that never gets washed or waxed.

Before you wax the car, clean the black plastic strips, I have used BonAmi cleanser with a wet cloth and then treat them with Back to black or some other thing to make them look really nice. The paste wax will not stick to the treated black plastic.

I can't help with the radio.

You should have seen my wife's 2001 Audi A4!! The splash pan was held on with 13 fasteners!! 2 in each wheel well requiring a 1 inch screwdriver. As for lazyness, you are right, especially when using synthetic oil and changing the oil once a year.
