Serial Number S70

I have a 98 S70 and need to have the timing belt changed. The serial number is not on the front cover of the engine. My vin is YV1LS5348W1449410. Is the serial number the last 6 digits of the VIN? I'm hoping I have the automatic tensioner, not the manual one.

    Serial Number S70

The SN is not part of the VIN, but is stamped on the engine block on the firewall side of the engine where it is almost impossible to read.

I suggest lifting off the Tbelt cover and take a look at the tensioner. Only late model 1998s got the manual tensioner. The hydraulic tensioner looks like a small black shock absorber.

Remember to check/replace the rollers and check the water pump for play.
