wipers not working S70 1998

The windshield wipers just stopped working.

No evidence of strain motor or noise.

The one wiper on the light works so assume that the motor is working?

Fuse box indicates no wiper fuses. Main fuse where relays are indicates no wiper fuses.

Car manual says secondary fuse box high #30 range where you need to take off with a torx wrench the wiper fuse and horn are on same fuse horn works.

Its snowing a rather not open up secondary yet.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

    The relays are for the front and rear interval wiping. So the fuse is good if the horn works. Next bet would be the stalk wiring is bad or the switch is bad.

    Taking off the wipers and the dust cover under the windshield to access the motor would be my route - just to check for electrics with the switch on.

    Replacing the stalk is easy, but there might just be a chaffed wire at the steering column.

        At least with the steering wheel cover, you don't have to worry about snow down you neck :) And just 2 T25 screws.

          replace stalk, still nothing

          The wipers on the headlights work, the sprayer works, the horn works,

          Can the relay be a problem? thought it was only for intermittent?

          I am at the wiper motor. Removed the cowl.

          is there an easy way to test the motor. I have meters.

            The front wipers do not use the relay, BUT, the wiring still goes through it.

            Look for chaffing at the steering column, one of the wires could have been worn.

            Check the plug at the wipers for 12V with the wiper switch pulled down.
