How do you install the wiper motor for the headlight wiper? V70-XC70 1999

Hello All,

I have a 1999 V70 AWD XC wagon. The headlight wiper motor on the driver's side is broken. Where can I find instructions on how to install the wiper motor? Also, I would welcome any suggestions from people who have made this repair.

Thank you,

Hugh

Headlight has to come out, of course. The wiper arm removed from the shaft. There are two nuts that hold the wiper to the frame under the headlight, kind of hard to get to.

Once out, the motor can be repaired. Usually the grease dries out and no longer lubes the gears. There is a writeup on Matthews or Volvospeed, Google wiper motor repair.

There are three wires in the plug: ground, hot, and a switch. Test the motor on a bench with 12V. After install, turn on the headlights and 'wash' the windshield. That should put the wiper in the 'park' position, so you can now put the blade back on.
