front and rear door speakers 850 1996

I want to upgrade the stereo in my 850 turbo. I'm not very impressed with the 8 speaker set-up. What size are in the doors? Anyone replace with Sony speakers? Would the first logical step be to replace the door speakers?

    size is 5 1/4. watch your mounting depth though, its pretty shallow. i think 2 1/4 is the max you can go.

    Fairly easy to replace the front and the rear are not too much harder. The size is 5.25. Any poly speaker will be a huge improvement over the paper OE ones.
