Very cold out, no start, noise from rear end. Frozen gas line? 850 1995

It's around -24C today so I went to go warm up the car. The engine was very hesitant to turn over and I'm hearing a clicking sound from the rear of the car. Also, I'm getting an odd smell from under the hood.
The battery seems good as it's relatively new and all the lights, and other electricals are working.
Are the gas lines possibly frozen causing pump to make the clicking sound?
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The starter stopped working. The car is fixed now. Thanks for all the suggestions.

It's miserable in Boston too.

Verify you have a working fuel pump before you go to a mechanic.

Are you in the Canadian Arctic? What is -24C in Farenheight anyway? The only thing electrical I'm aware of in the rear of the car is the fuel pump unless someone else some ideas......does the funny smell have an electrical burning up kind of smell or a fuel kind of smell? Can you push it into a garage and warm it up?

Im in Toronto, Ontario. So yes, Canada, but no not arctic Canada. -24*C is around -11*F but with the wind, it feels like -25*F. So pretty cold.
It did smell like electrical burning but I didn't see any smoke or anything and it was just when I tried turning the engine over.
I put the car in a neighbors garage with some space heaters for about 5 hours and still no start.
I tested the battery and it's putting out 12.5V.
When I parked the car last evening, everything seemed fine.
I think I'm going to just going to bite te bullet and take it to my repair guys. My hands are freezing trying to tinker and I've already wasted a good part of the day with no solution.

If it was me, I would unplug the fuel filter at the back and turn the key on to see if fuel pumps to the ground for starters.....

The A-2 code is a vacuum leak somewhere, but has nothing to do with starting the engine.

At the end of the fuel injector rail is a schrader valve. A quick push will show you if there is fuel, have the key in position II or hit the starter for 3-5 seconds.

Could the starter be making funny noises or running slow?
How about the fuel pump relay? #103 under the battery tray. Connect #15 and #87 with a wire and turn the key to pos II to see if the pump runs.

The USA is the ONLY country that uses Farenheit. Stop showing ignorance and get a conversion table!

It takes a lot to freeze a gas line, I would rule that out. All but the headlights will look good at 9V and even the headlights will appear to be bright at 10-11V. But your starter motor does need at least 12V to turn the engine over fast enough to excite the CPS to get a proper signal to the engine computer to allow spark.

10W30 is usually thin enough to work down to -40C/F, if the battery is good.

I don't know what the unusual smell is from the engine compartment or where it is coming from.

If you have a trickle charger or access to a running car and a jump, try that first.
