There's some companies making ceramic wheel bearings for race cars and other
applications, and they have a number of interesting claims.

I'm wondering if hi-tech wheel bearings in the old 850 would result in better
mileage. Since all of my wheels turn hard when off the ground and it's not
the brakes grabbing.
I understand that the bearings can be removed from the hub, but perhaps some
being more stubborn that others. So now I need to find an old hub to see just
how nasty a job it is to get the old bearing out and get the dimensions to see if
anyone has the right ceramic bearing.
One tech at IPD says that he has put motorcycle hubs in a 250 degree oven for 10-12 minutes and have them fall out, and he has had the Volvo hubs fall out
before.
Who has an old hub that they might want to get the bearing out and see what
kind of hassle it is? Once it's out we need measurements for the bearing.
Thanks, Bill
