2000 Volvo V70 AWD XC Wagon with 230K on it.

I wish I could put a picture here but the file size restriction is no good.
This way I could show people what I'm talking about.

The oil is not leaking from the oil fill cap or the Gasket from that area. That is dry.
It is not leaking from the PCV tube either under the black cover.

I am leaking from the plug seal opposite the oil fill at the back of the Engine. Has anyone ever experienced this before? If so, how to fix? Let me know. If you would like to see a picture of it please give me your email addresses and I will forward. Thanks.

Take the plastic cover off the engine - it is a torx I think - (when you put it back on, use never seize and do not tighten them too much.)

If your engine is like our three 850s, you will find lots of oil on the top of the engine.

I cleaned the top of all three cars ( I even used Q-tips on the nooks and crannies)

The oil never came back - our '96 855R I drove for 11 years.

I did, however find a bit of oil under the cover after an oil change.

After that I put a scrunchie around the filler when I had an oil change - a scrunchie is a cloth elastic pony tail tie for girls.

In my cars' cases, the oil was from spillage.

I've been on this site for nearly 20 years now.

The small file size for the picture is a waste. It will lack the details that I get with a 2 meg picture from a cell phone camera.

If you put a rubber glove over the oil filler does it get sucked in or blown out ?
