Considering purchasing an S40 for my wife, 2005-newer, any suggestions? What are the usual issues? Models to avoid? So far I've owned 240s, 850s and a V70 and I'm familiar with these models but no experience with the s40s. Appreciate it!

    Consumer Reports doesn't like the 2005. Believe it was the first year for the new body style. You know, first year problems. Personally, I'd only buy a 2006 and up. I was thinking about an S40 or V50 but never test drove one. Got a good deal on a nice 2002 Passat and bought that instead. Friend has a 2011 V50 T5 that she likes. End of my knowledge...:)
