If there is no resistance when you turn the blade, someone, like a savvy used car mechanic, might have removed something from the lock or its mechanism.
Carefully look at the door around the latch and handle to see if there are signs of it being taken apart.
This could be a big problem for you if your remote control battery goes dead - or, if you ignore the tire pressure sensor as I did, after a day it disabled the remote control until I aired up the tire.
You probably need have the lock examined and repaired and then have a working blade made. After a lock repair, the blade might work.
