low Oil indicator ??? V70-XC70 2003

Hello all.
131 K mi.
I was driving home and the low oil lamp comes on! No overheating, get to home open the hood and oil spray from the lower right front engine, look under car OIL draining from my engine.. (*&^%) I'll jack up in a few hours.
Any thoughts, thanks

    After a clean up, and research maybe the oil pump seal? blew out?

      That would be most unusual and the Tbelt would be covered in oil.

      Your best bet would be to top off the oil with cheap stuff, idle the engine for a bit and look for fresh oil drips. Make sure the bottom cover is off the car.

        Hello , after cleaning off the oil (under engine) it is leaking at the oil pump plastic cover, there is a bolt and gasket at 11 o'clock. so was it a PVC clog ? this engine has 130k syn/oil since 48k , take care,

          The oil pump is at the forward end of the crank, there is no 'plastic cover'. I have no idea what you are looking at.

            I know where it's at i did the timing belt @104K + evrything else too, Klause , I see the oil , then I looked at alldata. I see a plastic cover where I said. thx.

    OK , thx,, i cleaned the needed areas lots of oil under car, removed the 2x cam plastic cover , no oil on the belt but oil is seen below with a light. I have to leave Mon to work so I won't get into it until next weekend, but wanted to clean it. anyway, I'll bet back to ya,, i have to pack..
