Daughter has my old 2004 V70 in Cambridge area. Car did not pass state inspection because parking brake is not working.

I had taken delaminated brake shoes off several years ago and I am now several states away.

Does anyone know of honest mechanic in Cambridge area who could take care of this basic repair, preferably one willing to use parts supplied by my daughter.

    You mean that you removed and did NOT replace the shoes? Now it needs new hardware and makes things worse. I suspect there are no CHEAP garages in her area, they all charge at least $125/hr and will only use OE parts.

    If you replaced the shoes, then it is just a matter of tightening the cables, easy.

    Go to the pull down menu at the top of the screen and select shops. See if any are close to Cambridge and call them up.
