Rear shock replacement C70 2004

I'd like to replace my rear shocks and am looking for any guidance. Front struts have been successfully replaced. From what I read getting to the top of the rear shocks means removing the rear seats. Removing the nut off the top of the shock looks challenging because the space is so tight. Is there a tool that makes the nut removal easier? All I find is a tool to remove the nut from the front strut. Does this tool remove the rear nut also? Any other words of wisdom are very much appreciated

    Rear shock replacement C70 2004

Just to close the loop in case anyone reads this in the future.

The trick to removing the rear seats is to first remove the bottom cushion which is easy as there are retaining clips on each front corner which pop up with minimal force. Do not try and pull up the rear headrests without releasing them. Once the two bottom 13mm nuts are removed from the upper back seat cushion and the center arm rest is removed simply slide your hand behind the seat through the armrest hole and find the two plastic tabs that lock the headrest posts into place. Simply press the tabs at the same time using different fingers away from the headrest posts and pull up on the headrest with your other hand. The headrest will easily slide up. Very easy. Next realize that the top of the rear seat cushion is held in place by a horizontal 3 inch wire embedded in the seat cushion that hooks over a flat metal retainer. Simply press between the headrest openings on the top of seat to move the wire toward the rear of the car and free of the metal retainer. Press up on the rear seat gently while doing this and the seat easily comes out.

To remove the upper shock shaft bolts I simply used a 7mm open end wrench (the top of the shaft is a double D shape with a 7mm flat surface) and a 15mm deeply offset box end wrench and was able to remove. The Bilsteins use a Torx bit to retain the shock shaft on reinstall which is wonderful. You might think a tiny 7mm open end wrench won't cut it. But it works really well and you don't damage the shaft using Vice Grips.

When installing the shocks I used my floor jack to raise the rear of the car approximately three inches which permits the new shock to slide right on the mounting bolt with ease.

I hope this helps as you view other videos that seem not to include these details.
