Rear spring seat replacement V70-XC70 1999

My son's V70 1999 need to replace a rear spring seat due to corrosion.

What is the best method to carry this work ?

The actual seat seem welded to the car frame.

If no new part is available from Volvo or re-sellers, could a piece of frame be cut along with the seat using a battery gigsaw at the scrap yard ?

Thank you very much for your input.

Thank you very much for the information.

We were able me and my son to go at a junk yard today and found that the V70 and 850 spring seats were as corroded as the ones on his car.

We took one and it will be used to make one as idenntical as possible with the help of a mig welding machine.

      Good utube video also.

Good luck with your diy cup build. Part# is 1036392. You could check the price with a dealer. Maybe under $30. A lot for what it is but it's galvanised and will fit properly. The bump stops themselves may not be very good so check the ones at the scrap yard. Good luck.
