Trying to find out what the ceiling hook/slots are used for directly behind the front seats.
I keep my second row seats down all the time as I carry product in the car. I would love to be able to find a protective barrier to hook into these slots and go to the floor, preventing the front occupants from getting smacked by packages if I had to suddenly brake.
Does Volvo or for that matter anyone else make something to go here?
The car in question is a 2012 Volvo xc70 t6 awd wagon.

Curious to see what other people know. Thanks.

    Volvo sells a pair of net reels that clamp onto the top of the seat backs.

    You pull the net out of the large side and extend the rod at the top of the net and hook the rod's ends into sockets above the door.

    then you pull the net out of the small side and hook it onto the bar.

    This net can be deployed with the back seat up or down.

    We used this net in out 2012 and our 2008 XC70s.

    The fittings for the dog guard is normally level with the rear seat back. Perhaps Volvo have the same arrangement at the front for situations like yours. I'm not familiar with your car but have just fitted the rear mounts to my 2000 V70.

    You may be referring to the slots for a metal 'dog' fence, perfect for packages also.
