Engine light came on. Took it to a volvo place in town. The code read was bad front O2 sensor. They wanted $300 to replace. I got a new Bosch unit and replaced myself. Very simple. However, the engine light is still illuminated.

Does it require any additional adjustements? Unhook the existing unit at the harness, unscrew from exhaust, replace with new one. Doesn't appear to need anything else done to it.

Help most appreciated.

The link below is for a site that has a maintenance section that will tell you how to read and clear the codes that are set. You will have to do that to remove the check engine light. There is also a post there for changing the O2 sensor.

any reommendations on where to get a code reader?

I looked at this site. I see the O2 section and it's the way I did mine.

I see the codes section, but didn't locate an area on how to read or where to read the codes? Resetting appears to be disconnecting the ground from the battery for 10 mins or more.

How and where do I read the codes? Do I need a tool to plug into the A2 socket?

I did a complete site search here on brickboard with no luck finding the information you recommended I locate to reset my codes. Any other ideas?

Should I purchase a code reader to better understand the codes from your bay 13 section at volvospeed.com better?

The 10 minute battery disconnect (to my embarrasment and misunderstanding) doesn't reset the engine light. Late reading, tired eyes and tired hands working in 15 degree weather causes me to misread occasionally.
