Can't turn off TRACS 850 1996

I've reviewed some of the posts on TRACS and wondered if someone could tell me why my "TRACS OFF" light won't stay lit when I try to turn it off. Is it because I'm in the "slippery" ambient temperature range of -4 to +2 deg. C? My "TRACS OFF" light iluminates while the toggle switch is depressed, but goes out after the switch is released. Thanks for any help.

TRACS should be on when the light is lit. if it's always on, u can always try parking on some slippery pavement, or spray some water under the tire, turn the steering wheel to one side full lock and mash the gas pedal. this way, u can really tell if the tracs is on; it should be very intrusive, the brakes kicking in.

Something else is up with your system. I can turn TRACS off at will at any temperature, even the -4 to +2 range. So, I'd rule out that being normal. Sorry, not much help, but ruled one thing out.
