Panel light when using brakes...no bulbs out 850

Hello all,
Whenever using the brakes an instrument panel light illuminates. I suspect it telling me something is wrong with the brakes, as I do not have a bulb out.

Does this usually mean mechanical issues, or could it just be the fluid is low, which it is not.

Thank you in advance. I wish I could find similiar posting board from my 71 VW Ghia.

    I have a simular problem my panel light stays on all the time. I have replaced all the brake lights and the head lights and rear marker lights. I got all the bulbs from Volvo excecpt head lights.
    anyone have any ideas?

    Gregg-it may mean your third brake light is out(the light on the rear deck between the speakers). Check that out; if not something must be shorting-out!

      Check for codes at the A3 terminal. You could have miss matched bulbs, dirty bulb sockets, bad wiring, bad brake switch at the brake pedal or a bad pedal position sensor. Hard to tell at this point.
