boost problems? 850 1996

I am currently experiencing a boost "lag" when I hit about 11-12 lbs. of boost and the vehicle bogs down but the engine and tranny rev smooth. All help would be greatly appreciated. My car is a 1996 850R Auto with dp, race cat, sport exhaust, cone air filter and some suspension mods. Also to note I replaced my oem fuel filter with a Mann instead of a Bosch. Anybody heard of this problem with the Mann fuel filters. I already threw away the old one, so I can't see if this would resolve the problem.

Does it recover after this "lag" to continue build boost? If not, I'd check the pressurized hoses. Check the clamps where they connect the rubber ducting to the rigid pipes and manifold.

I guess (and it is a guess) that ignition timing could be retarding if any detonation is sensed by the ECU. Regarding your mods, what is "dp"? Down pipe?

dp is downpipe and I checked all of the hoses. Why would there be early detonation?

Just wondering if it was an octane problem. With the work you've done to your car I'm sure you're using 92. Have you tried a different gas station? When did this begin?

In California we only have 91 octane which I use and I tried an octane booster but that was a tankful ago(never to be used again). Here is the latest. I took her out on the freeway and in third gear under full throttle no problem. In Drive (sport mode) under full throttle... hesitation at 11-12lbs. boost. The tranny fluid is red as can be, no burn smell and smooth shifting. Maybe a tranny ECU glitch? I am banking on fuel delivery but I don't know what the hang up could be in the system.
