i know i'm not the only one with this problem since i've seen other 850s on the road with this issue. maybe someone can help. i have a 95 850 which has been in a minor accident or two. the body is in excellent condition, though. the one problem is that my headlights are uneven. one is very clear and seemingly normal, while the other one is very bright and blurry. when i look at the lenses, the blurry one appears to have dirtier glass... in fact, i'm thinking the body shop threw a used lense on there. does anybody know if i should be replacing my lense or maybe replacing the entire headlight package? is it possible that replacing both bulbs with two new consistent ones would solve the problem? i'm stumped, and before i start taking things apart i would like to know if anyone else has been through this. i didn't find any info searching the archives. thanks in advance...

you can remove the glass lenses and clean hte back of them and also clean the chrome reflectors in the light assembly.

there are clips that hold the glass on, remove them by sliding them sideways and the clips pop off. they are on the top bottom and sides of the light lense.

I just replaced both lenses on my car. they are kinda hard to hold with one hand and clip back on with the other but it is possible, a friend would be helpfull.

make sure you have original reflector before buying a new lens - I had a minor hit and the body shop replaced a lamp w/ a Taiwan made one. it was not good, and I ended up putting taiwan lens on the old sweden/german reflector - and it's got better.

If you're going to buy a lens, why not upgrade with a pair of e-codes? The improvement in lighting will be remarkable. Cost maybe $120/side, and you can then put in the biggest, baddest halogens you can find.

streetcleaner, Take some sand a funnel and an air hose. Aim funnel at clear lens shoot air into funnel and drop in sand at the same time . Your clear lens will soon appear with the same haze as the other. Another suggestion is buy a OEM lens for big $ or try eBay for less than$60. Third option I will sell you a cracked but very hazy lens cheap.

thanks for the suggestions / offer, but i think i will go for replacing the lense. i'm just hoping that spending big bucks on a new lense is going to work. i'd hate to find out that i need to replace the entire headlamp housing, especially after buying an expensive lense.
