ABS SERVICE REQ. Continued..... S80

Well, guess what! My extended warranty from "The Volvo Certified Limited Warranty Plan". You know the 24K or 24 months up to 74K, does not cover the ABS module. Surprised, I know I was! It was covered only up to 50k. The dealer also is charging me for the half hour labor to use the VADIS to trace the problem. I am a little perturbed to say the least! Any suggestions?

    ABS SERVICE REQ. Continued..... S80

After taking 99 S80 to the dealer he said that the codes indicated that I needed a new module which I have replaced and did not dorrect my problem. Can someone tell me what the other potential causes are for an ABS message? I guess one possibility is that the module that I put in has the same problem as the one that I removed. It just seems that I am reaching.

I don't have much to offer as for the dealer. I do understand his need to charge for the time. I think the biggest problem is that we don't have enough information about all of the possible causes for the light. Good luck with your dealer. I'll be curious to hear their explanation.

The Lateral Acellerometer and the Yaw Angle sensor are the other things I've seen.

ABS control modules are NOT a common problem (at least not YET) with S80s. In your case, I'd suggest taking the car back and explain that whatever code(s) they had before (which will be in their records) didn't properly diagnose a bad control unit.
