Dang! Need to replace weatherstripping on back door. 850 1995

My fault. Crawling out of my 855 with a couple of grocery bags in hand I elbowed the weatherstrip on the leading edge of the back door. There's a plastic retainer of sorts there that snapped off and the rubber ripped also.

Anyone replace this seal? Looks like it runs from the bottom leading edge of the door, along the top, to the upper rear corner.

Knowing what the dealer gets for rubber trim I'm likely out $100.

No pictures but the weatherstrip seal I'm asking about is the one see between the front and back door with the doors closed. There a plastic part about even with the bottom of the window that clips in over the seal. That snapped off and the seal ripped at that point.

I'll likely go to the dealership or a bodyshop and see what it costs to replace.

Erwin,

I just take a look at my 855 in the parking lot. Are you talking about the plastic+rubber seal around the whole door frame (back or front door, in your case, back door) ?? Yes it is the one, then you may need to remove the B and C pillars panels to access the plastic+rubber seal. It doesn't look cheap in price to me.

Thanks,

RTV to the rescue 850 1995

I'm out of town this weekend on a job but when I return I'm going to look more closely at the way it attaches. I'll replace it myself but 'till then an RTV repair will probably keep things together and dry.

BTW, Bill-d-cat, I'm not counting this as the expensive thing that will break cause my car's running so well!

Thanks for the replys
