Strange Squeak From Cockpit/Steering Wheel

A few areas to check:

Top of dashboard loose, pry out heater vents, there is a screw under them that might be loose.

Panel under steering wheel, this can get loose which will squeek. There is 1 screw under the steering wheel that must be removed, then pull the panel out torwards you. Reinstall, making sure everything is set properly. You will see guides by the pedals which the panel slides into, make sure to have the panel inserted in these slides on both sides. Also on the right side there is a duct that needs to be connected. Then push the top of the panel inserting the plastic clamps, then insert center screw and tighten. I find that this panel sometimes needs to be reset so there is no rubbing to squeek.

Although this only happened on my 850, not on the V70, you might want to push down on the dashboard right above the steering wheel. On my 850 at certain temps, it would make quite a bit of noise. When I pushed it down, the noise stopped.
