No heat in the seat.... 850 1994

I discoverd one -15 degree morning that my heated seat didn't provide any heat.

I followed the cable up into my seat and with my finger I could feel a circular(?) metal plate that I could move around. The one on the passenger side doesn't slide around and the heater works (lucky passenger). I'm assuming this is the source of a loose or broken connection.

Can anyone tell me if this is merely some sort of slip connector that I might be able to reconnect or is this more likely to be a break. I can feel it moving around, but I can't see it. The Haynes manual simply recommends taking it to the dealer if the seat upolstery needs to be removed.

Any help is greatly appreciated....

It's a plastic about 2" in diameter, and it holds the temp sensor for the seat. Common problem is 1 of the wires breaks off, causing an open circuit. It is possible to get your fingers around 1 side of the disc and twist it out of the hole and pull it out of the seat foam. It feels loose cause the drivers seat gets more use and the foam cushion wears. Then you can attach a new terminal end and plug it back in. Generic terminal ends available at any auto parts store. It's a small spade type conector. While you have the sensor out you can test the seat by jumping the 2 wires for the thermostat together and turn on the heater. If it works, you have found your problem. If not, 1 of the elements is probably broken
