Gearshift Position Indicator Light 850 1995

I am looking for instructions to replace the shift indicator position bulb.
I am not sure if this is relatively easy or difficult to replace. Any advice will be appreciated. TY

There are very complete instructions, complete with pics, at Bay 13: http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/SV70console.htm (a great site, by the way).

I changed the bulb in the 960, which is very similar to the 850; somewhat tedius, but not too difficult.

    Hope this helps.

You need to remove the center console, not too difficult if you have a few torx bits. Start with the section below the front ashtray (2 screws), then unplug the 2 large wire connectors, 2 small screws under that. Remove cover inside armrest compartment, 2 screws under that and up it comes. The bulb socket just pulls out (downward) from the shifter assy.
