Door marker light stuck ON V70-XC70 1998

The red marker light on the driver-side passenger door of our V70 is stuck ON. I couldn't find a door switch in the jam. Does anyone know where the switch is located? Is it switch integrated into the door latching mechanism? Does it require replacement of the entire latching mechanism? Pleeease say no.

Maybe. The switch is integral with the lock mechanism, not in the jamb.

Get a Haynes Manual and remove the lock mechanism from the vehicle. Then spray with PB-blaster and work the switch 20-30 time. I did this for mine and it has worked perfectly for over a year.

OTOH usually the light won't come on. So this may not be your problem.
