Ya gotta get gruby........... S70

Eric...the only way to know 100% what rotors u have are to measure them on YOUR car. I learned the hard way on my old 740 and had to mail order /return heavy iron rotors twice! What a PITA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 98 V70R AWD
had the 280mm.

I have a 98 T5 and it has the same brakes as our 95 855 GLT. I believe
the larger brakes were only available with the police package and the
police package was only sold in Canada. Above applies to North American market.

Yes, for 1998 (and I would guess some later years too) all non North American market S/V70 T5s had the bigger brakes. Here we got the small brakes.

Given the high HP and acceleration of the high pressure turbo cars, this item should not have been downsized in US cars. Was this just a cost-saving decision ?

IMHO, Volvo may be great at passive safety issues, but not always so with respect to active safety issues. Another example of this is the relative undersizing of the tires that these T5 cars are equipped with. These cars should at least have come with (or accept as an option) a 225/50/16 or wider tire.

I don't think so because I measured my '99 T5 rotors and they are the smaller size.
