'Low' horn died again! 850

I have a 95 850. When I bought the car it had a defective horn, and the ind. dealer later fixed it by repairing the grounding wire in the steering wheel, and replacing the "low" horn (with a junkyard part from another 850). Last week, in traffic I had to honk, and suddenly my low horn kicked out and I just heard the high horn.

Is there some way that my car is overpowering the horn and making it burn out faster, or could I just be the statistical fluke and have two of them burn out on me?

This happened to me yesterday, after finally getting a horn noise, it was only the high horn, checked the electrical turned out to be a bad connection. Tightened the wires and that seemed to work. although i can only sound the horn by hitting the top of my wheel, the contacts in the bottom corners must be defective. anyways, i have a horn, it dosent sound that bad....

I don't know how the car would "burn-out" a horn. Also, the steering wheel switch problem should be independent of a problem with the horn itself. I would be inclined to chalk it up to coincidence. Otherwise, it could be connector corrosion, bad relay, etc.

aside: The 850 horns are so wimpy, I added a couple of air trumpets. Now I can't even hear the Volvo horns. :)~
