My dealer didn't have a pollen filter in stock at last service. Rather than pop back, which is a round trip of almost 1000 kms, I thought I'd have a go at replacing it myself. "Arno" posted a note on 12FEB02 re this but the description I think related to a LHD V70.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a step-by-step description of the procedure for replacing the pollen filter on a RHD 2000 V40, please?

If you have time you can get the filters from www.Swedishengineering.com. The US part number is 30612666-5 and cost US$22 each and the shipping was US$10 for 2 filters in 23Aug02. The local price is approx NZ$150.

Thanks for your help David. Archibalds have already kindly ordered the part for me. I live in Nelson and they have arranged for a local Agent to fit it for me plus do a small a small warranty job at the same time. I had no idea as to the price though but given they charge S70 per hour + GST, I don't imagine it will any less than the $150 you suggest. I think I'm comitted to that arrangement on this occasion but certainly next time. I'd be of a mind to follow your suggestion. My vehicle has done 26,000kms now and this is the first time it will have been changed. How often do you change yours?

This is for the LHD but it can't be much different for the RHD model.
