Lifespan of a V70 R AWD?

I am looking at a used 1999 V70 R AWD with 85K miles. Exhaust valves have been replaced. I believe the service has been done on a regular basis. How long will these last if well cared for? I have a 97 850 GLT now but another kid on the ways brings the wagon.
Thanks

Lifespan of a V70 R AWD? $$$$

It won't last as long without spending ALOT of money as the FWD V70s. I'd seriously advise a turbo FWD V70 anyday over the AWD V70 R. The AWD Rs are also not as fast as a FWD turbo V70 EVEN with ALL the IPD perf. mods and yes, I've driven those, not impressed.
Unless you really NEED AWD, stay away from any Volvo AWDs. Besides tire related issues, AWD potential problems (all costly), the AWDs are generally more problematic and costly to own than the FWD versions.

How long do you want it to last?

It will last as long as you want to continue to fix it. In Cuba they still drive US cars from the 1950s.

There are some unique problems with the AWD cars, do a search of the term "bevel gear" in the Brickboard archives. Consumer Report has the AWD Volvos on it's "Used Cars to Avoid" list.

I am also curious as to why the exhaust valves needed to be replaced. 85k is kinda early for opening up a Volvo motor.

Lifespan of a V70 R AWD?

Might I ask why the valves were replaced at such an early mileage?

Otherwise with proper care you should be able to get 250,000+ easy.
