1998 S70 - Bad year? S70

Good morning:
I'm considerung buyig a 1998 S70 T5. A friend that knows a cosiderable amount about Volvos claims this is a historically bad year for S70s.
I know there aren't any guarantees when buying used - I'm just wondering if this statement rings true or false with any current S70 owners.
Thanks for your opinions!
