That Vault-like Sound of the Door Closing... V70-XC70 1999

...most impressed me when we first got our base '99 V70. It re-enforced Volvo's image of durability and safety engineering. However, when the rear window is down and you close the door, there is a slight clanking, glass-on-somthing-hard sound. It is not loud, but it is unpleasant. Is this quirk specific to my car, or is it more widespread?

    When the rear window is down, even just an inch or so, there is nothing to support the glass when you close the door, so it clanks.

    Don't slam it!

    BTW - the rear window also is open along its rear edge when it is down a bit, and rain will come in even if you have vent visors.

    If the front windows clank, the window channel needs repair, there IS support for the front window.
