Hi All,

I'm looking at a 1997 850R with close to 50k on the clock. Besides the normal used car stuff (straight body panels, paint work, etc) is there anything specific to this car I need to check into?

What major services will need to be done? Is there a big 50k? 60k?

P.S - Asking price on the car is $12k

I would buy unseen for that price,, that being said I would get a carfax
make sure its not a former wreck theft recover, flood car,

for us 850 lover's thats the car to buy, the car should be perfect at those
miles, look at all the maint records.

price sounds a bit high... try to knock it down to 10k..


look for
1) worn suspension parts: shocks, springs, and their mounts...
2) ac.. but these usually go at 70k...
3) c if the tranny fluid's been flushed...
4) interior rattle... sunroof (closed, opened, and visor in all positions)... interior seems to rattle a bunch in my car..

big maintenance scheduled at 60k. timing belt change recommended at the 70k services... check the manual
