Arrow flashing on dash 850 1996

Help Pls. I have an arrow flashing on my instrument cluster. It is the arrow that tells me I am in winter mode but it has started flashing and will not dissapear. Any ideas?

    are you having trouble shifting? does the brick seem to be stuck in 3rd gear?
    you may need to replace gear position sensor - pnp switch part #9455012-39(?)
    cost - anywhere from $80 to 140 (dealer), labor - anywhere from $100 to $350(dealer).

    A common ause is failure of the PNP switch. You can
    search on PNP or see:

    The exact cause can be determined from the fault code. The above
    is one of the most common failures.

    There is a fault code stored in the transmission control module.
