power streering problem 850 1994

I was driving the car last week in town for no reason the powersteering stop , but the motor is still runing .. slowly I pull over turn off the motor wait few minute start up again it run fine..

any input why steering lock up like that ??

car do have a leak on the steering pion which use the powerstreeing fluid...

so I poor in the leak seal to stop the leak.. this stuff is red thick liquid.. it seem to stop the leak on the drive way have been use this leak stop for 5 month now ....

    5 months of leak stop? Is there any more power steering fluid left? I think it is time to go see a mechanic and have the problem fixed. Leak stop is supposed to help temporarily, not be the long term solution.
    How much are you willing to pay when the power goes out at 30mph and you already started to make a turn at a school crossing?

    My volvo 850, year 1995, whem I turn on ignition, the light abs in panel stay light on (yellow) and just go on when I turn the key several times and slowly. Then, the light go off and I may go with de car. Whe::re is the problem.: Thank you for de answer. Escuse me for my English. Is so poor. Pedro Zanini.
