Bumper-mounting driving lamps....help... S70

Just a shot in the dark, but has anyone done this?

I'm going to have to drill (blah)...but was hoping that the bumpers on our S70's were hollow and I'd be able to reach around under the back side and easily mount my driving lamps.

I haven't found and easy way around to the back side of the bumper...and...to make matters worse, that thing looks as solid as the rock of Gibraltar.

Any suggestions?

I've mounted aftermarket fog lights in the factory locations (not under the bumper) in a '98 S70. You didn't say whether or not you already have front fog lights that you prefer to leave in place.

I installed aftermarket fog lamps underneath my front bumper on my '94 850 approximately five years ago. The brackets holding the lamps came with self tapping screws and double sided tape. I ran into the same problem as you encountered....so....I did the unthinkable and screwed right into the plastic bumper as well as using the double sided tape. They are as strong today as they were five years ago including surviving five winters. I mounted them with the tape first, fussing until they were in the exact position that I wanted. Then I used the screws, tightening them only until they felt snug, knowing that if I kept turning they would just strip the plastic. No problems since.
