Just noticed a rust appeared under the paint in the front of the hood where the volvo logo frame attached to the hood. The paint becomes loose on surface. I am wondering if this kind of rust is under the warrenty of volvo paint. I have purchased volvo VIP plan and the car is year 2000. Thanks.

    volvo's rust protection is good for eight years. It's in the warranty booklet that came with the owners manual. Take it to your local dealer.

      You have to read the fine print on rust warranties. I had one on a BMW that covered rust through. Who wants to let rust create a hole in the metal before the warranty can be used?

        I visited the dealer yesterday. The dealer told me that this kind of rust is not covered under the Volvo paint warrenty unless there is a hole due to the rust.
